She was discovered slumped over the wheel and police say her car was parked on the road, left running for nearly two hours as unknowing motorists drove past. As often happens, Wall has been misgendered and deadnamed by both the police and in numerous media reports.

Reports suggest that there was a smell of gasoline inside the property, and was speculated that she was killed before the fire was started.
On 17th January Kevyn Ramírez, 29, was arrested on charges of murder, arson and attempted theft. According to investigators, the suspect met the victim online. Then, on 10th January, he stabbed her to death, before setting fire to her home. According to the prosecution, the suspect admitted stabbing her.
