Sisters PGH 15-Year Anniversary: Sponsorship Opportunities
Join us in celebrating 15 years of Sisters PGH’s transformative work in Pittsburgh’s TLGBQ+ community! Founded in 2011, Sisters PGH is a nationally recognized Black trans-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting, advocating, and empowering trans individuals, with a particular focus on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) trans people.
As the founder and executive director, Sisters PGH was created from my lived experiences as a Black trans woman navigating systemic marginalization. What began as a grassroots effort to address the challenges I faced has grown into a vital resource for trans-marginalized individuals in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and Philadelphia County. Today, Sisters PGH provides life-saving programs and resources to ensure our community is empowered, housed, and supported.
Our Programs Include:
- Monica Roberts Place – A one-bedroom apartment program for BIPOC trans individuals offering housing stability and long-term support. This program helps participants transition from renting into homeownership while maintaining affirming and safe housing.
- Project T – A transitional housing program specifically for Black trans women and girls ages 18–26. Participants receive individualized support around personal development, employment readiness, and wellness to support their independence and long-term success.
- Behavioral Health Program – Launched in 2025, our behavioral health program offers accessible therapy, peer support groups, and culturally competent mental health services centered on the lived experiences of Black and Brown trans and nonbinary people.
- Community Empowerment Navigator – Our in-house caseworker provides hands-on support with navigating benefits, housing referrals, employment services, and crisis intervention. This role ensures our participants have direct access to trauma-informed care and connection to essential resources.
- The Stonewall Inn PGH – Our newest location, opened in 2025, serves as a downtown hub for drop-in services, rest, and connection. It includes showers, radical rest stations, peer support groups, and other essential resources. The Stonewall Inn will also serve as the home base for Sisters PGH's street outreach initiatives, expanding our ability to meet community members where they are.
